A Glimpse of VBS

Two days of Vacation Bible School (VBS) down... three to go... and we're having a wonderful time!!!

We've had about 50 kids the last two days. They mostly from our immediate neighborhood and are from different religious backgrounds, some Christian, some Muslim, some Hindu. Please pray for us and the other teachers and leaders and we try to reach out to all of them. Pray for energy for us and ears to hear and soft hearts to understand for the kids.

I wanted to give you a quick look at the schedule and what's happened so far... check it out...

VBS is every morning from 8am (or whenever people get here) to 11am (or whenever we're finished)... gotta love being on "Indian time."

We start with games and songs...

The children love "action songs"

Then the kids break up into their groups for the lesson

We have four groups, Beginner (ages 4-6, back left), Primary (ages 7-9, front left), Junoir (ages 10-12, back right), and Intermediate (ages 13-15, front right)

Finally, we wrap up - more singing, a quick review from each class about what they learned, and a thought for the day from one of the "international guests" (Allen on Monday, me (Chelsea) today), and we give the kids their snack and send them merrily on their way.

Then Bethany and I get to go back to the room and "crash"... at least for an hour or two before we're off and going on our next task, assignment, or outing... what a joyful, busy, blessed life we are leading here!
